Yes i think Hermes is leading them into a big trap that might just be really bad. He might get caught and something might really happen. That's why i think so.
In my opinion I think Hermes is helping Percy and his friends out. Because Poseidon even gave them the horse to get to the ship, so Percy father must have trust Hermes.
I think that Hermes is actually trying to help them get to Grover and retrieve the golden fleece. it could possibly be a trap since Hermes is Luke's father and he was trying to take down Olympus. so maybe hermes is trying to get rid of percy by sending him to the sea of monsters.
i believe that Hermes is trying to help Percy and company on there quest to find Grover,the Golden Fleece and to help save Luke from Kronos. Hermes comes to Percy and gives him a gift to help him before they even go on the quest. He also gives Percy advice to help him. Ashley Radford
I think that Hermes was both trying to help himself and them. He wanted to be able to get his son back somehow, but at the same time he wanted to be able to help him.
I think hes really helping theme cause he know that Percy has a big heart and he might end up helping hes son .
